A bicycle tour to Lofoten and Vesterålen, Norway

From Stamsund the road crosses a pass 100 meter above the sea going
to Leknes. From Leknes the connection to the next island is through a 1800
meter long tunnel going under the sea. It is a very unpleasant experience
to bike through this tunnel. The ascent is so steep that you have to walk
all the way from the bottom. The ventilation is not working, the traffic
is noisy and polluting and there is very little light. It is great to be
out of the tunnel in the fresh air and in the sun again on the next island.
