 A Bicycle Trip to Shetland and Orkney Isles July 2002

  The hotel, when we reach it, turns out to be in a lovely old stonehouse, refurbished into a hotel so recently that the workmen are still at it on the stairs. We're so early that we take a further trip down to St. Margaret's Hope, a village of almost exclusively old stone houses with decorative hanging flower pots everywhere. There's a ferry here, an entirely independent business going to Scotland (John o'Groats) with cars only. Back to Burray Village and our hotel, and after a nice dinner, bed.
